Oh Emeri

Oh Emeri!
I have, kind of, neglected Emeri on here lately! Not on purpose of course, but my last couple post haven't really had anything to do with the STAR of this blog so I thought I would compile all the silly little things she has been doing lately because the silly little things are what this blog is all about and why I started it in the first place!

Mrs. Potato Head
Emeri loves putting on Mrs. Potato Heads parts at Grandma and Grandpas so everyone laughs!
I finally got a picture of it! As soon as I get out my camera she always takes them off! : )

"Where'd it go?"
Emeri loves playing "Where'd it go?" with everything including herself! I hear "Where's Emeri?" dozens of times a day because he loves to run and hide everywhere and always wants mom to come find her even if that means she's only hiding behind her hands! : )  My favorite is when she has something in her hands, she clasps her hands around whatever she has, and comes to mom as asks "Where's it go?" so mom can say "I don't know where'd it go?" and she can say "There it is!" with a huge smile on her face and a little giggle!

"Ginger" Beard
We got this hat from Grandma Val and Grandpa Brad for the new baby! Braeden, his dad, and all his brothers have "ginger" beards when they grow them! So to make sure little Kyler will fit in with the rest of the Jensen boys they got him a "ginger" beard as well! Now they can all match while they watch the Stanley Cup this year! : )
Emeri wanted to wear it the other day and I happened to get this picture of her while she had it on for 8 seconds!
She wasn't a huge fan!

Angel Moroni
Emeri loves seeing pictures of temples, seeing temples on drives, and going to temples! It amazes me that she know what a temple is and can point them out even though they all don't look alike! Well, when we went to the Brigham City Temple open house I pointed out Angle Moroni on top of the temple and told her that Angle Moroni has a trumpet so he says do-dooo-do-dooooooooooooooo, she repeated it, and then didn't think much about it after that! Until the other day while I was cleaning out our bookshelf and sat down a church book that had a picture of the Salt Lake Temple on it! Emeri picked it up, pointed to Angle Moroni on the temple, and said do-dooo-do-dooooooooooooo! I couldn't help, but laugh! Now anytime she sees a temple or you ask her what Angle Moroni says she has to sound the trumpet!

Eating the Baby
We were talking to Emeri about the baby the other day! We were telling her that we were going to be bringing home baby brother soon and she was going to be such a good big sister and we asked her if she was excited and if it was ok to bring home the baby she then said "I'm going to eat it! Num num num!" and licked her lips! It took Braeden and I off guard for a second and then we both busted up! Apparently Emeri is going to eat little Kyler when he gets here! : ) hahahaha
We will have to watch her close! : )

Stay tuned!
These aren't all the silly little things Emeri has been up to lately more silly things to come tomorrow!

New Car

We finally purchased a new car!
YAY!
We have been looking for months now!
Nothing up to this point felt right for our growing family!

This is why we needed a new car...
  • The car I have been driving is a Toyota Camary that is well on it's way to having 225,000 miles on it.
  • You can no longer open the drivers side door from the outside so you either have to leave the window down or crawl through to open it.
  • The worst part, there is no AC so this summer we roasted! I really thought I was inside an oven cooking on really hot days! No Joke!
  • and...I'm pretty sure our car has been running on prayers for the past several months!
    Let me explain...
It runs fine for us, but then it has these "moments" when it doesn't want to work at all so we tow it to get it looked at! Once we get it there and get it looked at they can't find anything keeping it from not starting! It starts right up so we drive home and it runs just fine for another 3 or 4 months before it decides to have another "moment"!

Braeden thinks our car had "car PMS"! hahaha
Impressive right? : )
For a 1993, a 20 year old car, it has done our family good!

As you can tell though it was just time to get a more reliable car especially with kiddo number two going to be here any day now!

Here's the best part about the new car...
We have been saving for quite some time now so we could pay cash for the car and we were able to accomplish our goal! We spent a little bit more than we wanted to, but we were still able to go the bank and get a cashiers check right out of our account without taking out a loan! (A pretty big accomplishment since Brae is the only one who works! At least I think it is!) We now have zero extra money : ) , but what a great feeling it is to be able to cut a check and pay for a car! It's pretty exciting for us! This is the biggest purchase that we have ever made apart or together and it's very exciting! I can't imagine what it's going to feel like to buy our first home! : )

OK OK so for the exciting part! : )
The car we got is a 2006 Nissan Altima with only 91000 miles on it!
Our goal was to try and find a nice, reliable car, with less than 100,000 miles on it that will fit four comfortably, and we did it! : )
The car search day after day for several months paid off!(Braeden did most the searching I can't take much credit for that!) I'm so glad it's over and I'm so happy with the car we got! It has everything we need plus some things that are just nice to have!
Here it is! : )

If you can't tell I'm excited! : )
Now hopefully people wont be embarrassed to ride in our car now!
Hahaha!
Such is life!

Name Dilemma

I haven't officially announced, on here, what we are naming our little man!
Many people know because if you ask we haven't been keeping it a secret, but I wasn't going to put his name any were public until he got here!
However, we have been having a name dilemma around here the closer this little man gets to arriving, so I'm announcing part of it now! : )
His first name was chosen pretty quickly after we found out we were having a boy!
Well... almost immediately!
We had our list of baby names from Emeri and the only boy name on the list we could still agree on was...

 KYLER!

Braeden's middle name is Kyle so I liked the idea of KYLER so he could be named after his daddy and Braeden liked it even if it had nothing to do with baby boy being named after him!
It also just felt right!(you got to go with the gut sometimes!)
Once we agreed on the name we started calling him KYLER and once you start calling your baby by a name there is no going back! : )
His first name was easy for us, but his middle name on the other hand has been a challenge!
We had talked about the middle name early on in the pregnancy and I thought we were on the same page had decided what it was going to be, but come to find out we were not on the same page!
Hahaha!
Now we have some front runners, but we can't make up our minds!
So... we decided we would put it on the blog and get your opinion!
Here are the list of names we have been throwing around and a little explanation as to why we are considering them... our front runners are mixed in there, but I'm not going to tell you which ones they are! : )

Think KYLER...(put middle name here)... and see what name you like best with the first name KYLER!

Ian - Braeden's mission presidents first name
Bennett - Family name
Damon - After Matt Damon (see this post) haha!
Dean - Family name
Liam - Braeden likes it (He also really likes Liam Neeson! LOL)
Hunt - Family name

Here's how you share your opinion:
On the left side of the blog there is a poll go there and cast your vote for the name you like the best!
We are excited to see what you think!

Ww will announce the middle name we choose with your help when KYLER gets here!

GO CAST YOUR VOTE!

Baby Shower

My mom, sister, and sister-in-law threw me a baby shower this past weekend and it was great!
It was so nice seeing and spending time with family and friends!
I also got some really good stuff for baby boy and got enough money in the "double stroller fund" to cover almost the entire thing! Score! : )
Opening gifts

The nieces had to help!

Picture of the big belly!

Some of the friends and family that came!

My mom did this really cute thing for decorations she hung pictures of Braeden and I up when we were babies!

My sister made the adorable owl cupcakes!
Aren't they cutest?

 Mom and sisters!

Thank you so much Alex, Brooke, and Mom for spending the limited extra time you have to throw me a baby shower I really appreciated it! LOVE YOU GUYS!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported me!
And for those that couldn't come I missed you! : )

I can't wait for this little man to get here so I can use all this good stuff! : )

We have our 37 week doctors appointment today and I'm so excited to see him and hear his heart beat!
Stay tuned for the 37 week update!

Ronan

Have you heard the song titled Ronan by Taylor Swift?

If not go here and watch the video to hear the song!
Warning: It will make you cry!

It's about a little 4 year old boy who passed way from cancer!
Taylor Swift was inspired by the blog that his mom started about their journey!

I first heard it the other day when I was counting down the minutes until I could put Emeri to bed! Braeden was at school and I was excited to have some downtime, not to mention my patience have been so thin lately! I feel like a terrible mom these days because I get frustrated with Emeri for the littlest things and then I realize, after I have already gotten upset at her, that I'm being a very grumpy mom and not being patient with my baby!
She's not even two yet for heavens sake!
Everyone says this is normal towards the end of your pregnancy! It must have something to do with being so excited for your baby to get here that your patience is running out!? Still even if it is normal I would rather not be so irritable!
Anywho... So I was counting down the minutes until I could put my baby to bed and I hear this song!
 I started to bawl!
How could I want my baby to go to bed? I shouldn't take for granted that I have this perfect healthy little girl that I get to snuggle and spend every day all day with!
How could I be so selfish?
I picked up my little girl, danced with her to this song, gave her lots of hugs and kisses, and told her how much I love her and how lucky I am to be her mommy!
Then I rocked her and snuggled her forever soaking up what it means to be a mommy before I laid her down in her bed with one last kiss and I love you!
I then immediately went and downloaded the song so I can listen to it over and over and over again so I never forget what it means to be a mommy and never forget how lucky I am to be a mommy to Emeri and Baby Boy!

I'm so thankful for my little ones! Man oh Man I love them more than I ever thought I could!

Here are the lyrics:
RONAN
I remember your bare feet
Down the hallway
I remember your little laugh
Race cars on the kitchen floor
Plastic dinosaurs
I love you to the moon and back

I remember your blue eyes
Looking into mine
Like we had our own secret club
I remember your dancing before bedtime
Then jumping on me waking me up

I can still feel you hold my hand
Little man
And even in the moment I knew
You fought it hard like an army guard
Remember I, leaned in and whispered to you

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

I remember the drive home
When the blind hope
Turned to crying and screaming why
Flowers pile up in the worst way
No one knows what to say
About a beautiful boy who died
And its about to be halloween
You could be anything
You wanted if you were still here

I remember the last day
When I kissed your face
And I whispered in your ear

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
Out of this curtained room
And this hospital grey will just disappear

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

What if I'm standing in your closet
Trying to talk to you?
And what if I kept your hand-me-downs
You won't grow in to?
And what if I really thought some miracle
Would see us through?
And what if the miracle was even getting
One moment with you?

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

I remember you bare feet
Down the hallway
I love you to the moon and
Back...

Splash Pad

Last Saturday while Braeden was playing flag football with some of his friends Emeri and I were enjoying the splash pad that they have at the same park!
It was the last day that they were going to have it open so we lucked out! : )
It wasn't blazing hot outside so Emeri got cold pretty quickly running through the freezing water, but she still had fun between her warming up breaks!

When Braeden was done playing he come over and cooled off in the water with Emeri!

We are looking forward to playing here more next summer since it's just down the street!

Airplane

Emeri and Braeden often play "airplane" (sometimes it's called superman same thing) where Emeri gets on Braeden's feet and he lifts her up in the air to fly like an airplane!
Emeri loves it!

Well... : )
This morning Emeri discovered she can be the one to lift her dolly up in the air on her feet to play airplane!

: )

Isn't she the cutest?
You all know I sure think so
: )
Happy Friday! : )

Radio

Braeden got the opportunity to go talk sports yesterday morning on the radio at Weber State!
He talks sports pretty much all day everyday so this is just second nature for him!
However, to share what he knows and his opinions with others over the radio is and a dream come true!
It's not every day you get to go be a cohost on morning sports radio show! : )
He was so excited to go and when we finally got to talk last night (long day) he told me how much he loved doing it and wants to go do it again!
I hope he gets the chance again! He did a great job and was fun to listen to!

I said it once, but for the record... Braeden is way too attractive to be on radio! We need to get this boy on TV! : )
LOVE YOU BRAEDEN

Cookies

I got brave the other day and decided to attempt and make some cookies with Emeri!
I found a no bake recipe online that required no baking and no stovetop cooking!
Just mix it together refrigerate and eat!
When Emeri is helping precision in ingredients couldn't be an issue! : )

Emeri with her apron on that Grandma Kathy gave her!

Concentrating really hard on unwrapping the butter!

Pouring in the oatmeal!

She got caught eating the chocolate chips! : )

Once again she has to show you her food! hahaha!
Always!

Mixing it all together!

We made a huge mess, but had a good time doing it!
By the end Emeri was rubbing butter all over her legs! (eye roll) : )
At least the "cookies" came out tasty!

Here is the recipe we used!
I added some almonds to ours they turned out ok, but if I were to make them again I would use half the butter and add peanut butter to hold the cookies together!
That's a lot of butter and we did a half batch!

Popcorn

Enjoying a movie with popcorn!
Emeri had to be in charge and the popcorn had to be on her lap at all times!
I think Braeden's popcorn addiction is rubbing off on Emeri! : )

She always has to show you the food in her mouth!
Manners are something this kid doesn't have down quite yet!
I have a feeling we have a long road ahead of us!

I'm HUGE

36 weeks today!
Everyone is telling me I'm huge and today I officially feel huge! : )
Life is still pretty good!
There are a couple things that have come up in the last couple weeks...
1. Pinched nerve in left butt cheek
Worst pain ever when you're trying to sleep
2. Heart burn
I've never experienced this before! Not very comfortable!
Other than those two things things have been awesome!
We have been doing a lot of preparing around here!
  • We rearranged our bedroom so the bassinet and rocking chair will fit!
  • I've been having tons of contractions which means my body is getting prepared for this baby!
(He must still stay in for at least 2 weeks! I wont let him come before then!)
  • We met with our awesome Doula Angie to review details about labor and delivery!(Go here if you want more information about Angie! Doulas are amazing to help you prepare and while you are in labor!)
  • Emeri's schedule is all typed up and ready for when we have to leave her! : (
  • I have 4 people lined up for when we have to go to the hospital until Braeden's mom can come up and get Emeri! (I have backups for my backups just in case!)
  • I have revised our birth plan from Emeri's birth so that's all ready to go for our Mid-Wife and the hospital
  • All pre-registered for the hospital
  • Other than packing Emeri's bag and our hospital bag I feel like there really isn't much more I can do to prepare for this little fellow!
It feels good to feel somewhat prepared!

Our next doctors appointment is next Tuesday! (37 weeks)
We'll see how ginormous this boy is!
I'm getting pretty nervous about his size hopefully my nerves will be calmed a bit next week! :s

Here are some picture of my big belly tonight!

My baby shower is this weekend and I'm so excited!
